About

David is a self-taught artist based in Southern California whose work explores the wonder and depth of the natural world through the lens of imaginative realism. Working primarily in oils, acrylics, and graphite, he creates paintings that reveal a world of interconnected flora and fauna — imagined landscapes populated by hybrid creatures that are at once beautiful and ominous.

David's fascination with nature began early, in childhood afternoons spent at the neighborhood creek catching salamanders and gathering moss for terrariums. That curiosity has never left him. Today, as an avid collector of carnivorous plants, he finds meaning in the patience and dedication their care demands. This intimacy with the natural world shapes every canvas: each piece is an invitation to look closer, to find kinship with the wild. David believes that through a deeper communion with nature, we might live more empathetic and compassionate lives.
